Brief about the activity:

‘Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better'

 

To evoke a sensitivity for the environment, its problems and create an understanding on the need for environmental protection among the students, LPCPS organised a session called 'Environmental Awareness Programme' headed by Dr. Alka Kumari from the University of Lucknow. Through this session, students learned about horticulture and discussed the following points:

• How ornamental trees provide shade for pedestrians on hot days.

• How growing ferns can help reduce the amount of pollutants in the environment

• How we can use ferns for remediating contaminated soil.

 

एलपीसीपीएस ने पर्यावरणीय चुनौतियों को नियंत्रित करने की आवश्यकता पर प्रकाश डालते हुऐ 'पर्यावरण जागरूकता' विषय पर एक सत्र का आयोजन किया। लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय की एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर डॉ. अलका कुमारी ने सत्र में मौजूद सभी छात्रों को पर्यावरण अध्ययन और वनस्पतिविज्ञान से अवगत कराया।

इस सत्र के प्रमुख बिंदु:

 

• पेड़ गर्म दिनों में पैदल चलने वालों के लिए छाया प्रदान करते हैं।
• फ़र्न का उपयोग दूषित मिट्टी के उपचार के लिए किया जाता है।
• पेड़-पौधों के ज़रिए हम पर्यावरण में होने वाले प्रदूषण को कम कर सकते हैं।
