On 1st October 2023, a group of 17 students from Lucknow Public College of Professional Studies (LPCPS), along with their faculty Dr. Nripendra Singh, NSS Coordinator, LPCPS, and Mr. Chetan Khanna, Assistant Professor, LPCPS, participated in a cleanliness drive as part of the Government's Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan. The event was conducted under the theme "EK TAARIKH EK GHANTA" in collaboration with the Ministry of Jal Shakti's Central Ground Water Board.
The drive aimed at promoting cleanliness and raising awareness about the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment. Students and faculty members worked together to clean Jhulelal Ghar near Hanuman Setu, basin of river Gomti, collecting waste and ensuring the area was left pristine. The initiative was in line with the government's larger goal of fostering community participation in the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The involvement of the Central Ground Water Board highlighted the importance of water conservation, linking cleanliness efforts to sustainable water management practices. The students, along with their mentors, took part enthusiastically, contributing to the success of the campaign. The event not only helped in beautifying the surroundings but also instilled a sense of responsibility among the participants towards environmental stewardship.
This drive stands as a testament to LPCPS's commitment to social responsibility and nation-building through active participation in government initiatives.
