On 20th November, 2023, a group of 24 students from Lucknow Public College of Professional Studies visited Fareedpur village to promote hygiene awareness. The visit aimed to educate the villagers, especially women and children, about the importance of maintaining personal and community hygiene for better health and well-being.
The students began their outreach by organizing an interactive session where they demonstrated proper handwashing techniques, emphasizing the use of soap and water. They also explained the significance of hygiene practices in preventing common diseases, such as diarrheal infections, skin conditions, and respiratory issues. Using simple language and visual aids, the students conveyed how cleanliness could lead to healthier lives and a safer environment.
To further support the village’s hygiene efforts, the students distributed free soaps to every household. They provided tips on the effective use of soap for handwashing, bathing, and cleaning everyday items. Alongside the distribution, the students engaged in one-on-one conversations, addressing specific hygiene concerns and answering questions from the villagers.
The visit concluded with a pledge from the villagers to adopt regular hygiene practices, thanks to the practical demonstrations and informative discussions led by the students. The initiative was well-received and is expected to have a lasting positive impact on the village's health practices.
