Session on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

A session on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was held on 11th December 2024 at the LPCPS Conference Hall. The session was conducted by distinguished doctors, Dr. Sateesh Verma, Professor Junior Grade, Department of Anaesthesiology, King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, and Dr. Ajay Kumar Verma, Professor, Department of Respiratory Medicine, KGMU, Lucknow.

This important training session was a collaborative effort between the NSS Unit and the Research and Project Development Committee of LPCPS. The session aimed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical training on performing CPR, a critical life-saving technique used in emergencies when someone’s heart stops beating. CPR plays a pivotal role in maintaining blood flow to vital organs and increasing the chances of survival in cases of cardiac arrest.

The session began with an informative presentation by Dr. Sateesh Verma, who explained the fundamentals of CPR, including the proper technique for chest compressions, the significance of airway management, and the importance of timely intervention. Dr. Ajay Kumar Verma further elaborated on the significance of CPR in respiratory emergencies and shared real-life scenarios where CPR could be the difference between life and death.

Following the lecture, students and faculty participated in a hands-on demonstration where they practiced CPR on dummy models. This practical session helped participants gain confidence in performing CPR and reinforced the importance of skillful and timely action in emergencies.

The session was a valuable learning experience for all attendees, providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills to respond effectively in life-threatening situations. The joint efforts of the NSS Unit and the Research and Project Development Committee of LPCPS in organizing this session were highly appreciated by the participants.
