Awareness Campaign on Menstrual Hygiene

On April 7, 2025, a group of 20 students from Lucknow Public College of Professional Studies visited Dallokhera village as part of their NSS (National Service Scheme) community outreach program. The team was accompanied by NSS programme coordinators Dr. Ashish Kaushal and Mr. Chetan Khanna.

During the visit, the students undertook a noble initiative to promote menstrual hygiene among rural women. As part of the awareness campaign, sanitary pads were distributed to 50 families in the village. The students engaged with local women and girls, educating them about the importance of maintaining menstrual hygiene and the health risks associated with unhygienic practices.

The core agenda of the visit was to spread awareness that every girl deserves to feel empowered and confident during her period, and to promote the use of sanitary pads as a basic yet essential component of women’s health. Through interactive discussions and personal engagement, the NSS volunteers aimed to break taboos surrounding menstruation and encourage open dialogue on the subject.

The visit was a meaningful step towards community upliftment and reinforced the spirit of social responsibility among the students.
