On the inspiration of the Hon’ble Governor and as per the instructions received from the University of Lucknow, the NSS Unit of Lucknow Public College of Professional Studies organized an awareness campaign on 7th March 2025 to address pressing social evils, particularly dowry and drug abuse.
In alignment with the university’s directive, a Pledge for a Dowry-Free India was conducted simultaneously in the college and all its affiliated institutions. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of all classes, faculty members, and NSS volunteers. The pledge ceremony was conducted in a disciplined and unified manner, emphasizing the collective responsibility to eliminate dowry practices from society.
Faculty members addressed the students and highlighted the harmful impact of dowry on families and individuals, especially women. They also stressed the importance of youth involvement in eradicating such deep-rooted evils.
The campaign aimed to instill a sense of social responsibility among the youth and encourage them to stand against regressive traditions and substance abuse. The event concluded with a strong message of unity and commitment toward building a just and equal society.
