The NSS Unit of Lucknow Public College of Professional Studies, in collaboration with the club Happening Souls, celebrated International Women’s Day on 7 March 2026 with great enthusiasm and academic spirit. The event was organised to recognise the contribution of women in society and to encourage students to reflect on the changing role of women in the modern world.
As part of the celebration, 15 girl students participated in a writing activity on the topic “Role of Women in Changing Environment.” The participants expressed their views on how women have contributed to social transformation, education, leadership, family welfare, and nation-building. The activity provided a meaningful platform for students to present their ideas, creativity, and understanding of women’s empowerment.
After evaluation, Shivangi Tandon of BCA, Aditi of BJMC, and Swikriti Tiwari of B.Com (Hons.) were declared the winners. They were appreciated for their thoughtful expression and clarity of ideas. All other participants were also encouraged and presented compensatory gifts by the respected Dean Academics.
At the end of the programme, the Dean Academics addressed the students and shared his valuable views on the role of women in the development of society since ancient Indian history. He highlighted the contribution of women in cultural, educational, social, and national progress. The event concluded on an inspiring note with appreciation for all participants.
